Alyson Sinclair Joins Center for the Art of Translation

Alyson Sinclair will join the Center for the Art of Translation, publisher of Two Lines Press, as communications director, effective May 5. Sinclair will step down as publisher of the Rumpus on May 1, following the March sale of the online literary magazine to Roxane Gay and Debbie Millman. Previously, she was the founder of literary publicity firm Nectar Literary, which shuttered earlier this year, as well as a publicist for Farrar, Straus and Giroux, McSweeney’s, and City Lights Books.

Sinclair, who is based in Asheville, N.C., will support the Bay Area–based nonprofit’s publications, events, educational programming, and other initiatives that aim to champion new, overlooked, and historically underrepresented voices and literary translation.
