American Manga Awards Set for August 21

Anime NYC and Japan Society have announced the second annual American Manga Awards, slated for August 21—the eve of the 2025 Anime NYC convention—at Japan Society’s New York City headquarters. Viz Media is the Gold Sponsor of the awards.

This year’s nominating judges include 11 comics professionals. They will select the nominees across seven categories: Best New Manga, Best Continuing Series, Best New Edition of Classic Manga, Best Translation, Best Lettering, Best Publication Design, and, for the first time, Best One-Shot Manga.

The American Manga Award nominees, along with the 2025 Manga Publishing Hall of Fame honoree, will be announced on June 17. Submissions for the awards are now open.
