Loyalty Bookstores Co-Owner Steps Back
Christine Bollow, who has been a bookseller at Loyalty Bookstores in Washington, D.C., and Silver Spring, Md., since 2020 and became a co-owner in 2023 with Loyalty’s founder, Hannah Oliver Depp, will transition into an advisory role following a move to Arizona. She will continue to spearhead the organizing of Loyalty’s partnerships with other organizations, the Awesome Con Book Fair and Liwanag Filipino Lit Fest D.C. Bollow, who currently is the store’s director of programming, will continue in this role through the summer.
In a release, Depp stated, “Christine and I share a vision of how bookselling can grow with our communities wherever they are found. Christine has forever impacted the definition of Loyalty Bookstores and the publishing industry at large. I am so glad we will continue our relationship in a sustainable way for Christine and for the bookstore as the publishing industry and storefront retail evolve.”
