Furthermore Resumes Publishing Grants
Furthermore grants in publishing, a program of the J. M. Kaplan Fund, is resuming its grantmaking this year, supporting to the publication of nonfiction books focusing on the arts, history, and natural and built environments.
The program is resuming thanks in part to additional support provided by the Hawthornden Foundation, which carries on the work of Drue Heinz (1915–2018), publisher of the Paris Review and cofounder of Ecco Press.
Since its inception in 1995, Furthermore has supported nearly 1,500 nonfiction works with more than $8 million in grants.
“We’re thrilled to restart Furthermore,” Julia Bator, executive director of the J. M. Kaplan Fund, said in a press release. “This is a time for like-minded foundations to join together on shared priorities, and we are so pleased to be working with Hawthornden.”
Grant applications are currently being accepted with an application deadline of July 1. More information can be found here.
