Carla Bruce Joins Lavender Public Relations
Carla Bruce, former director of publicity at One World, has joined Lavender Public Relations.
Lavender PR, a boutique literary publicity firm with a focus on queer and feminist authors, was launched last year by veteran book publicists Brittani Hilles and Amelia Possanza. Hilles and Possanza had previously served as senior publicity manager at William Morrow and associate director of publicity at Flatiron, respectively.
Prior to joining One World, an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, in 2020, Bruce held publicity roles at Catapult, Algonquin, and Riverhead. She has worked on publicity campaigns for such titles as The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story by Nikole Hannah-Jones and the New York Times Magazine, Matriarch by Tina Knowles, and You Exist Too Much by Zaina Arafat. Bruce is based in Los Angeles.
“The world is changing very quickly, and so is the literary landscape,” Bruce said in a statment. “I’m thrilled to join Brittani Hilles and Amelia Possanza at Lavender and continue navigating this exciting, challenging time in direct partnership with authors—helping to birth their essential, enriching work into a society that needs transformative art more than ever.”
